I just started watching "Ah! My Goddess!" It's really cute. :3
Any recommendations for a good series to watch/read?

Depends on what your interests are. There's older stuff like Robotech/Macross, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, or Evangelion. I rewatched G-Gundam and Gundam Wing a couple months ago. I'm also working my way through 009 and Witchblade.

Ah, the classics. Those are always fun to watch.
However, I prefer more recent series, because the art is more modern. Just my opinion.

Admittedly, better graphics makes it easier to immerse oneself into the story. It can depend on the artistic style as well. I could never get into Shin-chan because of the art style even though I'd heard how funny it was. But the thing about the classics is that they have withstood the test of time to be called classics. There's something to be said about shows that you can grab off the shelf and still enjoy.

I just recently finished watching Last Exile. <3 Also FINALLY finished Yu Yu Hakusho. Saw all the way up to the fight with Sensui but never got beyond that. So glad I finished it. Still one of my all-time fav anime.

Currently watching Medabots. xD bought it off rightstuf a few weeks ago. its so old, but so good. <3

The only Gundam series I have watched were Gundam Seed/Gundam Seed Destiny. Loved the animation and all the characters, minus Faye. >.< Not really interested in any of the other Gundam series. =/

I recommend Get Backers, Blue Seed, and Last Exile. can't think of any major ones of the top of my head at the moment.

These are some classics.

I just updated http://the-anime-adv1sor.blogspot.com/ with some links for legitimately streaming free anime. Also, it was easy to hook up a laptop to the big screen downstairs and watch free anime on television every day!

xxxHolic is very good for a modern viewer. Not only is there beautiful costumes and scenery, but it is really funny and has ghosts!!!

Lately I've been watching My Wife is a Mermaid which is showing on Hulu. Its so cute ^^ But some of the characters do get annoying because they keep interupting the romance which I really want to see more of.

Wolf Spice is very good too, if you like a bit of comedy and romance! And Wolves! And traders! And more apple fetishes.

Most recently I watched Peacemaker which was a samurai series, Emma a victorian romance, Ghosthounds, and Spice and Wolf. Out of those Peacemaker and Emma were my favorites. I'm getting ready to start Ergo Proxy. I love me some netflix.

I've given up on most anime's based on mangas if I've read/am reading the manga. I think the only animes I'm watching currently are the old G Gundam dubs and Sailor Moon Stars....brings back the good old days.

Guess that means you haven't read the Sailor Moon manga. Which was pretty good. It took a different route in the last few story arcs than the anime if I recall correctly. I kind of liked that the mangaka wrote the S movie.
